Welcome back! Thanks or stopping by 🙂
Today’s video is a tutorial inspired by the Cara Delevigne Suicide Squad Premiere Makeup look. She wore a bold black and silver glittery smokey eye paired with a classic red lip. I first saw this look on Jen Atkin’s Snapchat, and immediately knew it was a look I wanted to recreate. I have no idea what her makeup artist actually used to create this look, but used products in my own collection to create a similar look on myself.
I did choose to do a few things differently to tailor this look to my personal taste. I prefer to use gold over silver, because I think gold accentuates my brown eyes much better. I also don’t own silver glitter, so making this swap saved me some $$$ (and a trip to Sephora). I also smoked out the lower lashline much more heavily than hers appears to be – my eyes are much rounder than hers, and have more lid space which means I ended up wearing quite a bit more glitter than she seems to be wearing. I felt the lower lashline needed to be more smokey to balance the ultra metallic lid look. Of course, if you have less space on your own lids, you may prefer a less smokey lower lashline, and/or choose to use a softer color (like grey) to smoke it out. The other two major differences are the eyebrows, and the lack of blush. We would all be lucky to have Cara-brows, but since mine aren’t nearly as full on their own, I filled them in completely to give myself bold browns. For the blush, I didn’t take a close enough look at the photo to notice she had a pink toned blush on the apples of her cheeks, so I skipped the blush completely. I still think it looks good with just the subtle highlight and contour, but feel free to add a subtle pink blush when you recreate this look. I hope you enjoy the tutorial!
