Hi Michelle! I have not personally tested that swap on this recipe but I have heard of many people successfully using applesauce in place of oil in other recipes. If you do, I’d encourage you to use unsweetened applesauce otherwise the batter will come out way too sweet. Also expect to taste the apple flavor in the muffin, it may compete with the blueberry flavor. Let me know how it goes!

Hi Marann,
I cut the flour by 1/4 cup, added 1/4 cup hemp seed. Then I cut the blueberries by 1 cup and added 1-1/2 ripe mashed bananas. I also added 1/3 cup sour cream. WOW! Thanks for the recipe

Thanks for the feedback! Why don’t you try using a gluten free baking mix in place of the flour in this recipe. Most supermarkets carry gluten free baking mixes these days.
