Welcome back! Today’s post is another collab – this time with Lauren from Little Blushing Birdie. Lauren and I wanted to create two different New Years Eve makeup looks that can pair with any outfit and any celebration. We wanted to use silver and gold because, duh, NYE is all about classic metallic glam.
I knew I wanted to create a smokey eye, but wanted to keep it softer than a classic black smokey eye, so I used the darkest purple shades from my Tarte Tartelette palette. You can use any color you like (black included!), just make sure to have a dark shade, a medium shade, and a skin-toned transition shade to help diffuse the darker color. I chose purple because i like the way it accentuated my brown eyes.
While this look appears to be complicated, it’s actually quite simple to recreate -all you really need to do is blend until you think you’re done, and then blend some more 🙂 I layered my darker eyeshadows over a cream base to make the look more intense, but you can definitely skip the cream shadow if you prefer a softer look. For an even more subtle version of this look, check out this post I did a while back.
