How to Get Glowing Skin with Temptu

Some people have clear, beautiful skin that glows like they’re lit from within.  I do not.  (If you’re interested, you can read more about how I’ve worked to improve my own skin here and see what my face looks like sans-makeup & post-run here.)  That said, I still love and am forever chasing a flawless face routine that results in gorgeous, glowing skin.  After years of trial and error, I’ve found that the key steps are (not surprisingly) a healthy diet, moisturized skin and a great highlighter.

1. Start with a clean face and hydrating foundation primer with SPF to nourish and protect skin throughout the day.
2. Smooth a CC cream or other foundation over entire face or just where needed.
3. If needed, set with powder (a must for me!).
4. Sweep blush over the apples of the cheeks and run a matte bronzer underneath cheekbones to contour and define.  If you used powder, use powder blush and bronzer; if you didn’t set with powder, cream formulas should be fine.
5. Use a big, fluffy brush to blend.
6. Squeeze the highlighter onto your fingertip (just enough to make a small circle inside your fingertip) and swirl onto the apple of one cheek in a circular motion.  Sweep the highlighter up your cheekbone by patting (stippling) your fingertip up the top of your cheekbone, just where the sun would hit.
7. Repeat on the other cheek.
8. Smile and GLOW on!

This highlighter is by far the best I’ve tried: it didn’t pill my powder or mute my blush, and the glow lasted all day without ever turning greasy looking (despite the crazy heat wave).  Even better: a little bit definitely goes a long way… pretty important when a 1oz bottle is nearly $30!

In case you’re interested, the photo below has the rest of my September Birchbox!  I’ll be doing a messy hair tutorial featuring the Macadamia Oil spray I sampled soon… because beach hair isn’t just for the summer 🙂
