I attended a wedding reception this past weekend for a bride and groom who escaped away to Cancun for their big day and threw a huge party for those who couldn’t make the trek.  It was a really fun night with lots of photobooth action and some great reception games.  My favorite was the clinking kissing game (as I’ve just decided to call it).  Guests were told that any time the room clinked their plates with their utensils, the MC would call a couple to kiss.  The bride and groom would then have to imitate that couple’s kiss.  And yes, both couples had to kiss while everyone was watching.  It was pretty fantastic and I’ll be keeping it in my back pocket over the next year as many of my friends say their “I do”s.

I wanted to keep my outfit summery since 1) it’s summer, and 2) it was HOT, so I went with a classic nautical striped dress and paired it with nude sandals and a bright floral bag.  I actually purchased this dress on my recent NYC trip and I’ve been wearing it like crazy.  It’s super comfortable and it definitely hides the “I just stuffed my face” belly bloat that is bound to happen after 3 slices of cake… I added a simple but fun pearl necklace and some blingy earrings and called it a day.  I didn’t want too much to fuss over.

    • Thanks Tonie! It totally reminded me of a Kate Spade dress that just didn’t fit me quite right – this one was so much cheaper and fits SO much better!

    • Thank you so much, Anna! I was dubious about this one fitting well as fit-and-flare dresses sometimes make me look dumpy due to the fit, but this one surprised me in the best possible way!

so, what did you think?
